Faversham Pools will celebrate 60 years since the iconic outdoor pool opened in May and on Monday 6th May at 2pm-5pm, customers are invited to help the Pools mark this special occasion with a unique ‘Pay as You Please’ swimming session.

Since 1964, Faversham Pools has been committed to promoting physical and mental health and, wellbeing in Faversham so to celebrate this milestone, customers are invited to a special event where they can determine their own admission fee, with a suggested minimum donation of 60p to honour 60 years in the community. This approach aims to make the celebration inclusive and accessible to all while encouraging customers to contribute generously towards the charities ongoing commitment to fundraising to improve the facility.

General Manager, Jon Lazenby says: “We are thrilled to be celebrating 60 years of our much-loved outdoor pool this year and this event is an opportunity for us to celebrate our community who have continuously supported us throughout the years. Funds raised will directly support on ongoing ambitions of maintaining and enhancing our facility.

In a nostalgic nod to our past, we want the day to resemble what it was like in 1964 so for this day only, we are going retro and online bookings won’t be available. Instead, customers are invited to line up and pay their entry fee, which is a minimum donation of 60p, and the maximum is what you can afford to donate, we are raising money through this event and others throughout the year to secure our future for hopefully, another 60 years.

Both the indoor and outdoor pool will be open, and the event is open to people of all ages. Please note, once we are at full capacity, entry will close.”
