Faversham Pools is delighted to announce, in conjunction with Swale Borough Council, the commencement of a refurbishment project to transform the changing areas at the pools.
The exciting project has been made possible through funding from the Government’s Pride in Place Impact Fund, providing an opportunity to invest in and improve our facilities.
First opened as an indoor swimming pool in 1993, Faversham Pools has enjoyed a long-standing partnership between Faversham Swimming Pools Management Trust and Swale Borough Council. It is particularly fitting that the two organisations are once again working together to deliver improvements to the facility and provide customers with a modern, welcoming changing environment.
The refurbishment works will take place throughout the autumn and early winter. During this period, the indoor changing area will be closed, but customers will continue to have access to showers and toilets, with the outdoor changing facilities being utilised while the work is underway.

“We are excited about this project and the opportunity to further improve our facilities. We recognise that the work will bring some short-term disruption for our customers, but this will be more than outweighed by the long-term benefits of a fresh, modern changing area that will help ensure the pools continue to serve the community for many years to come.
“Having first worked together when the indoor pool was built over 30 years ago, it is fantastic to be partnering with Swale Borough Council again on this investment in the pools. We look forward to seeing the finished result and continuing the next chapter in the journey of Faversham Pools.”
The refurbishment forms part of an ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving the pools for the local community.
With further joint projects planned, alongside the commencement of a new leisure operator contract for the borough in 2027, there is plenty to look forward to as we continue working towards providing accessible leisure and swimming opportunities for everyone in Faversham and the surrounding area for many years to come.
